Dear Parents and Guardians,
The school’s Board of Management reaches the end of its current term of office in mid-October. The Board consists of eight members, two of whom are elected by parents/legal guardians of students currently enrolled in the school. As a result, I am writing to you for the purpose of commencing the selection of two parents/legal guardians for the forthcoming three-year term of the Board.
At the outset, I wish to express sincere gratitude to the current parent nominees, Ms Regina Fitzpatrick and Mr Joe Lavan, for their unstinting commitment to the Board, their generosity of time, their expertise and professionalism, and the very significant contribution they have made throughout the life of the current Board.
All parents/legal guardians of students currently enrolled in Calasanctius College are eligible to participate in the selection process.
The first step in the process is seeking nominations. Nominations must be made using the form below, which is also available in hard copy from Reception in the school. The completed form must contain the requisite details and signatures of the person being nominated, a proposer and a seconder, each of whom must be a parent/legal guardian of a student currently enrolled in the school. A person may propose or second themselves. Please note that a typed name will not be accepted in place of a signature.
The closing date for receipt of completed nomination forms is 1.15 p.m. on Friday, 11 September 2026.
If only two valid nominations are received, those two people will become the parent nominees to the new Board. If more than two valid nominations are received, an election will take place.
If an election is required, voting will be conducted electronically, with a link to the voting form being issued individually to each parent/legal guardian through their own Compass account. Voting will take place between 6.00 p.m. on Saturday, 12 September 2026 and 11.59p.m. on Monday, 14 September 2026.
Each parent/legal guardian is individually entitled to participate in the election. Accordingly, each parent/legal guardian who wishes to vote must have access to their own individual Compass account. Parents/legal guardians who are experiencing difficulty accessing their account, must contact admin@calasanctius.ie no later than 1.15p.m. on Friday, 11 September so that access may be arranged before voting commences. In the event that two candidates receive an equal number of votes the matter will be determined by lot.
